New destinations and new travel experiences through the Erasmus+ summer school – the best opportunity to travel and make new acquaintances!
The Romanian-American University (RAU) summer school program provided an exciting opportunity to delve deeper into the topic of Aviation in Tourism. It was an interesting and educational chance to be part of an international group and participate in various visits and discussions related to tourism. Particularly memorable were the excursions to Bucharest's OTP airport and the Tuzla airport classrooms where we engaged in practical activities that an ordinary tourist or traveler would never encounter.
At Bucharest's OTP airport, we had a unique opportunity to closely observe the turnaround flight operations, which involve the ground handling of aircraft between flights. At the Tuzla flight academy (located by the Black Sea), we received a comprehensive overview of safety requirements and also got to participate in hands-on practices of necessary security procedures.
However, the summer school was not just lectures and practical training. Romania is also famous for its beautiful nature and as the birthplace of Count Dracula. Of course, students were taken to visit the castle that inspired the vampire legend, offering a view of Romania's enchanting mountains and valleys. Bucharest's old town with its history and architecture also left none of us indifferent!
