The purpose of the subject is to improve the level of financial literacy of the students, provide knowledge about the principles of personal finances, including in the areas of financial planning, financial decisions and the evaluation and management of investments. The subject also gives an overview of investing possibilities based on their topicality and from the standpoint of a private person.

A person who has passed the course
prepares both short-term and long-term financial plans
compares different loan products and makes an informed choice amongst them according to the given circumstances
compares and assesses different investment possibilities and products
in financial planning and investing takes account of the life cycle, risks and taxes
when planning finances, makes necessary applied financial calculations

Anu Olvik MBA
Anu Olvik is the Head of the Financial Management Programme and a lecturer at the Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences. She has worked at the Ministry of Finance in the Insurance Policy Department as a financial literacy expert. She holds a Master’s degree from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tartu.
