National Library of Estonia preserves and promotes Estonian cultural heritage and acts as a bridge between knowledge and people.
National Library of Estona consists of:
- national library that collects, preserves, and provides access to publications published in Estonia or concerning Estonia, registers statistics on Estonia’s national bibliography and print production, and issues international standard numbers;
- parliamentary library that provides information services to the Riigikogu and other constitutional institutions;
- research library that provides access to the information necessary for conducting research in the humanities and social sciences;
- development centre for librarianship that co-ordinates the establishment of industry standards, organises in-service training, and participates in terminology work;
- cultural centre that invites you to visit exhibitions and theatre performances and attend various events.
